Anyone 18 years of age or older is considered an adult as far as the California Department of Motor vehicles is concerned. Therefore Driver Education and Behind-the-Wheel Training is not required to obtain a California Driver License, although professional Behind-the-Wheel Training is strongly recommended! And, of course our school offers this! The best package is the 6 hour package. We generally administer 90 minute lessons, or 2 hour lessons. 1 hour lessons are available as well, if requested. All lessons are private where only one student will be in the vehicle at a time, unless requested by student for another person to ride in the back seat.
Occasionally, older adults may be required to take a behind-the-wheel driving test at the DMV to renew their driver license. This may be necessary because of a severe vision condition, or other physical or mental conditions (“reexamination”). We, therefore, offer refresher, preparatory lessons for these individuals to assist them in improving their driving skills, and improving their chances to be successful in passing the DMV driving test.
AARP and other organizations have wonderful programs for senior drivers. There is one problem, these programs are in the classroom or online, and cannot measure a driver’s skill behind the wheel. Every driver develops bad habits; some seniors have a lifetime of them!
G & G Driving School has behind the wheel programs for seniors that assess driving skills in the real world, and will assist them in preparing for the DMV driving test!
